I’m too open sometimes
like the sea.
Arms wide open for entry,
Welcoming..
No gates to protect me.
Land masses surround me as I crash around like tidalwaves amass the shipwrecks abound.
Pilfered & robbed of my deepest treasures,
Left barren & riddled with pain as another sailor leaves after
staking his claim.
Not conquered, merely made calm..
Until…
They never stay.
They always leave.
No one really loves the sea.
So, I craft tsunamis to block entry,
Send my kracken to devour.
Place my treasures in the deep
recesses of my ocean bed,
So that they will stay on the surface
And far from inside the soul of me.
Neptune isn’t my keeper,
I’m hollowed ground.
They never stay.
They always leave..
No one really loves the sea…
